I'm 150 miles from home, 250 miles from where I sold it, and I spot my old Chimaera pulling onto the A46 from the B1190.

Small world eh?

Anybody on here bought it?

I've seen the same chim several times in our village just off the A15 North of Lincoln, including yesterday lunchtime, Mother's Day?
We have exchanged nods as we passed last summer but not convinced he is on PH, definitely not a member of EMTVRCC.

Ray,

Where is "North of Lincoln" then? I grew up in Scotter, went to school in Gainsborough and still get back on a regular basis.

You have some great roads around you...for starters:

A1133 Newark to Laughterton
B1205 Blyton to Kirton
B1241 Kexby to Saxilby
B1398 Kirton to Lincoln
A631 Gainsborough to Hemswell

I could go on, and on, and on...strange how it is a 400 or so mile round trip up to my dads, but I usually clock up 600+ miles

I agree but the roads get better up in the Wolds near cadwell or from Horncastle to Louth good open sweeps or fast tight curves that really show up the grip levels.
My trip toget the paper from our local shop 400 yds away takes at least an hour and 50 miles exta on the clock, brilliant.
Well your handle is apt for 2nd in the league but the Imps are chasing you
By the way I'm in Nettleham, as is a mate with a 450 chim, fella in the next village with a Griff 500, several others in town, another S3 in Branston, S2 in Brigg, Snorky on the south bank and Mac5 in Scunny plus 2 x T350 locally and others we know of who seem to hide away!!!
Let us know if your coming up this way we might get a mutual spotted, ah well must sign of I'm in sunny Houston just finishing off in the office and going for a few beers.
Cheers,
Ray

Hi There,

Yes it's a small world, I grew up in Nettleham and was taking my mothering day present as my folk still live there, I did see Ray in my rear view mirror after my daughter said "Dad, that man waved at you". I have seen Ray about around the village. (I think I know wher you live).
I purchased the car about a year ago and am enjoying it tremendously, I did notice the car was purchased by someone living in Norton Disney in 93.
My wife does Ray's mothering Law's (Eva) hair on a weekly basis.
I will drop in and introduce myself to Ray, if thats OK, when I'm up there next.

Paul,
Hi at last. I would be only too pleased if you call in next time you're in the village, we have known about your Chim through the MiL
As RTOY mentions we have the EMTVRCC meet on Saturday 7th May and it would be good to see you there as well, you need to contact John Case our RO for details and registering your attendance due to likely numbers attending.

Dave,
Irv and I should be at Cadwell on the 6th so will look forward to seeing you there again. Do you fancy meeting for the run to Sleaford?

Hi Paul...not 100% clear from this thread but I assume L***XOU is yours.

So how is she running? She had 56k on her IIRC when I sold her in 2002...no problems that a new starter motor, a damned good clean and maybe new carpets wouldn't solve...

I spotted it on eBay a few times a year or so ago but never met reserve (which appeared to be too high IIRC). Thought about buying it back, but one Tiv in the household is enough for now!!!

Yes I've had her for just under a year now, yes she's running like a dream (touch wood). Have just fitted new carpets and a starter motor. I have stripped and cleaned all the chassis and waxed it up.
Just hit the 70K (thats the car not myself).
Still have a few things to do on my list.
I'm working away at the moment but should be paying a visit to Ray when I get home.

Regards,

Paul.

Hi sanchas,
There are quite a number of us about although there are a number of reported sightings around Lincoln that I've never seen or heard of, where do they hide?
Glad to hear you're after a Griff, you won't be disappointed.
Meanwhile join the TVRCC and come to some of the local meets, if you need help with finding a Griff then James Agger is your man and he attends most meets.
Look forward to meeting you soon.
Ray

Paul, hope to see you soon.

big_jimmy, you missed a cracking day out however the June meet is near you:
12/06/2005 June monthly meeting.
Meeting to be held at Grimsthorpe Castle near Bourne in Linconshire.

It should be another good run-out so if you're not already a member then it's time to get your application in to TVRCC Club office and contact our RO John Case for East Midlands membership.

By the way, was it you we spoke to at Ancaster Kart track a while back? if so then it's good to hear from you, if not welcome!
Ray
