991.2 Not seen many about
Discussion
As per the title really, barely seen any on the road and just checked the Porsche Approved site and very few for sale. Anyone know if the sales numbers are normal or down on the previous releases? I am not in the market for one, unless a GT2 or RS allotment just happens to come my way (pigs might fly), just more of a general interest thing. I have inquired about a Turbo S and lead times are quite long, only one for sale second hand and that is POA.

Have seen a few Targas. Are the gts models out yet ?
Nope: http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/911/I think this fits in with the other PH Topic.
Have driven 991.2 don't like it. Had it for a day and driven around PRC. When I got back into my 991S it just felt better to drive.

Seen a few now, I really like the rear lights.
I really like the rear lights but not sure why they have 4 rectangles within the light lit up at all times I get that they are DRL's but they look a bit silly.I do however really dislike the vertical slat grill (the horizontal one on the .1 GTS is so much nicer) the rear engine lid with the vents being formed out of the one piece of metal was so much more elegant.

I've had one since 1st June. There is nothing wrong with the power delivery or response. There is no turbo lag and the response is instant and because of the increased torque throughout the rev range it takes off like a rocket.I think the reason that not many are seen on the road yet (I have yet to see another one) is that the UK dealers are not getting many through at the moment. I think it is a very nice car and quite like the fact that it can be quiet if you want it to be, which is nice for cruising motorways.

This is simply not true. I'm sorry, but either you drive it at between 2500 and 5500 the entire time or you have not had a NA 9A1 to compare it to.Then again, from your profile I see that you have/had a 981S. Do you honestly feel the throttle response of the two cars is equivalent? The 9A2 feels like the pedal has been dipped in treacle in comparison.

I bow to your superior experience with this car as I am just coming up to only 2k miles. I cannot detect any turbo lag on mine so perhaps it is my insensitivity. I have had a Prodrive tuned Impreza in the past and that definitely suffered from turbo lag. Anyway, I have yet to take it round a track where any imprecise power delivery is likely to show up so I will report back when I have done so. I popped into Guildford today to see if I could arrange a test drive of a base Carrera with manual 'box after I was disappointed with the S PDK I tried a few months ago - I have a feeling that if any of the non-GT 718s/991.2s are going to be okay that will be the one. Chap there reckoned, in a few more words than this, that it was pretty much unicorn spec and that they barely sell non-Ss let alone manual ones. He thought the only place I'd find one is PEC Silverstone....bit of a trek for me to satisfy some idle curiosity I think, but you never know.
