If it's not for putting on display then Peli cases are excellent (I have one for my watches when they are in the safe).

I bought mine from ebay about 6 years ago lovely oak thing with lined sections to hold the watches. I can't seem to find them them though now.

Teabag boxes are pretty popular, lidl/aldi has them now and then.

The default is the Lidl tea box. They come up every so often, nicely made with decent hinges and a glass lid.

They hold 10 watches, just put each watch around some central heating insulation tube and they fit and display lovely.

For those who don't know, this isn't a wind up :-)

Only for battery powered watches then?

It doesn't wind them I'm afraid. Just displays them well.

Very pretty. But not very compact & I bet it didn't come with a kilo of free ice cream.

It is surprisingly well proportioned. I keep it in a drawer away from the kids. It doesn't have ice cream in it but my wife tells me it will be where my ashes are kept if I buy another watch.

I've got the Stackers ones like this. Top level is a "gentleman's organiser" for small change, cufflinks, etc, then just keep adding layers of watches underneath. Currently on my 3rd tier!

Are you happy with the quality? Looks really nice in pictures but now you have your hands on it, is it living up to expectation? Looking to buy the same if you recommend

Looking at the OP the ice cream tub fulfilled more of the criteria than your watch box. So, with my "Urn" and your watch box not having the capacity, this means the ice cream tub wins the "People's Choice" award.
