Hi All,

I need a pair of shelf speakers which will also be used as the front L/R for the AV system as well as music.

Should I just buy new from Richer Sounds:

Mordaunt Short M10 - £50
Tannoy MERCURY V1 - £70
Mordaunt Short M20 - £80
Monitor Audio MR1 - £90
Cambridge Audio SX50 - £120
Monitor Audio MR2 - £150
Dali ZENSOR PICO - £160
Wharfedale DIAMOND 220 - £180

Should I consider the offering from Q Acustics ? What are their speakers like?

Or should I keep an eye on ebay for Monitor Audion Silver edition speakers? Gold might be too expensive?

Space is tight but they could be 30cm tall and preferably black.

If the reviews are anything to go by then its the wharfedales that top the list, may be worth a listen in richer sounds.
Ive had a set of q acoustics speakers in a 5.1 system and was very impressed with them, definatly worth a listen too. The 3020's look a good buy.

I have a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze BX2s sat doing nothing if you want them? They're in walnut veneer and in mint condition. I've not had much success PM-ing people lately so feel free to message me.

Where are they going? If up against a back wall (you say space is tight) you'll want sealed or (probably if they will also be used for music) front ported speakers (so the bass is better).

Not sure if they'll fit but I have Wharfedale 9.1s. £99 from super fi and sound excellent. Not fussy about where they are positioned either.
