Doh! rear screen needs re-stitching
Discussion
Getting out of my Chimaera today I accidently put my weight on the rear screen and the put my hand through a part of it. About 10 inches of sitching around the right hand side has come away, does anyone know the best way forward?
I've seen it mentioned before that it costs about £100 to replace a rear screen, I just need it re-stitched so I need to find someone who could do this.
I'm based in Nottingham so someone local would be ideal, anyone know of anyone?
thanks.
Try James Agger, if anyone knows of a repairer in the Nottingham area then it'll be James.

Hi speedeight, would you mind letting us know how you get on?
A small number of stitches have come undone on the upper-right corner of my screen, so it will need doing soon too... I spoke to one of the main dealers who said they wouldn't repair the screen, just replace the whole hood...and, as the roof wouldn't colour match a new hood (sun fade), that would have to be replaced too - total cost >£800
The best lead I've been given so far was 'some garage' my friend used who will handle the removal, re-stitching and refitting of the hood for around £300. Don't have the details to hand at the moment, but can dig them out if anyone's interested.

Will do.
I took my Griff to the factory a few months ago - one of the items on my list was a few small areas where the stitching is coming apart.
They basically superglued it back in place, which is not really a viable solution and I doubt it will take many up and down procedures to slacken it again. In fact it doesn't seem to be holding too good.
I was told (by TVR) that a complete new roof comes in at about £500 so if anyone else finds a cheaper alternative please share. Not sure it can be successfully re-stitched but perhaps just a replacement centre section?
