Got a trackday coming up at Rockingham in a few weeks, stopping over in Corby and was wondering if there are any reasonable restaurants in Corby or near by?
Had a look on tripAdvisor and it doesn't look promising so any recommendations would be appreciated. Gastro pub would be ideal.

Thanks smile

Define nearby....

Hambleton Hall is lovely about 30minutes away, I also like The Olive Branch in Clipsham.
Both have rooms if you want to avoid Corby.

Not much in Corby at all. But plenty of very pretty villages outside.

The Queens Head at Bulwick is good, a nice village pub with good food and drinks, friendly locals, and a nice setting. One of my favourites in that area.

Thanks for the recommendations. Both look nice but probably a little too far. 10-15 mins in a taxi would be better.

In a word...yes...Sondes Arms in Rockingham village is ok - decent food, decor was a bit OAP-swirly-carpet-carvery-special, but refurbed recently (website gallery looks like a complete transformation) I've not been in since. 10 minutes max from the circuit.

Otherwise there's a Weathespoons (Samuel Lloyd) about 5 minutes from the circuit: you'll pass it on the way to Rockingham village. As others say, surrounding villages have some very good pubs, but 10 minutes could be an issue.

The Castle Inn isn't too dreadful, from experience. Decent enough freshly-made pizzas and a few tidy ales.

Snooty Fox in Lowick. Quick can there and back. Lovely this time of year too.

I'm afraid I read 'Corby' as 'Corbyn'

Ascough's in Market Harborough is quite nice, fancy food rather than a gastro pub, but not too expensive.

You'd need to book quite a long way in advance though.

Nothing in Corby. Try Market Harborough or Uppingham.

It's a nice drive from Rockingham down to Oundle where we live. I recommend the Tap & Kitchen.. Gastropub food and their own Micro Brewery (plus interesting guest beers etc).

I'll recommend the Snooty Fox too - plus you are almost certain to see loads of red kites as you drive down the A6116.

There used to be a few nice places in Rothwell, although it is a couple of years since I was last there. The Thornhill Arms in Rushton also used to be nice.

As has been mentioned there are a few places around the square in Uppingham, Don Paddys being my favourite.
