My wife's had 3 driving lessons, and seems to enjoy driving so much that she's threatening to put "L" plates on my beloved Tiv .... and drive it even!
Any advice on how to foil her dastly plan? be scared, be very scared!..I am

I my opinion (as a female) your precious TIV will be in very safe hands. Us women are far, far better drivers than you boys you know! And just think, when you want to upgrade to your next one, she'll be on your side already, in fact it'll probably be her who suggests it!

I doubt she would be covered by the Insurance

After 3 lessons though?! Even if the insurance would cover her (which it might not), I wouldn't let her near it - yet. If I were you I'd wait until she's got some more experience first.

How to foil her plan is easy, though - buy her a TVR of her own!!

Try just telling her as it is... NO! or have the PAS disabled & move the pedals back so she can't drive it!!

Now ladies, don't me...

If you let her loose in a Tivver after 3 lessons you will probable end up needing a new car, and possibly new wife. It takes years of experiece to know what do do when a car goes out of shape, which is something Tivvers do remarkably well.

This isnt a anti lady driver thing, I wont let my colleague who has recently passed his test drive my 4.2

I agree, they can bite even an experienced driver. While not hair trigger responses (like a Maserati BiTurbo) things can and do happen very fast, and the prospect of just how out of shape a slight loss of control will end up does not bear thinking about.

Not a good idea.
