Cashless in Seattle
Discussion
Hmmm. 4 long distance phone calls to cancel a whole bunch of credit cards.
Had my wallet lifted on either the metro or the monorail in Seattle. Bother.
6000 miles from home on a Sunday at 4pm. The car needs gas, I need feeding and I have about 70 cents in my pocket.
Double bother. With a flake in. In fact, if you have time, bother with a flake and chocolate sprinkles.
Kind of puts a downer on you weekend.
Tomorrow we will find out just how good Amex corperate customer service really is, because I'm going to need some cash.

hi ho, what a bummer.
and, being seattle, no doubt it's probably raining?!
hope all gets sorted.
Sorry mate I misread your post.
I thought you were in Settle. It's only 40 miles away.
If you were I'd have given you a sub or a lift home.
Hope you get sorted.
If you get really stuck ring Frazier Crane. He seems a nice sort of guy.
Tell him your from Manchester and you live near Daphne's mum. That should help.

Sorry to hear that MrE, Having lived in the area for most of my 40 years I can't recall ever hearing about anyone being "pick pocketed" though no doubt it's possible. I have had 4 vehicles broken into over the years.
If you get stuck (like you are now) & If you can't arrange funds though your bank or credit card company soon, Email me and I'll ask a Friend to float you a small loan, if it will help. Very sorry it has happened, Seattle is such a great place!

Ah. Brilliant.
Amex do not have an office in the entire of Washington state, and they want me to drive to the nearest office to get a replacement. When I enquired how I was to pay for the fuel required, they didn't have an answer.
Cheers man. I suspect I can borrow some cash off the guys I'm working with. We're all working for the same company, so it comes out of the same pot.
I appreciate the offer.

Pretty much exactly what I said.
We've just had a conversation that went along the lines of "It's a corperate card, we pay you lots of money to have the service and I put 20K + on it a year. Do something to get me some cash".
