Anyone tried Jag XKR or XFR 5.0?

Has anyone driven the 5.0 XKR (or XFR) 5.0 and a 997 3.8 and is able to comment on the power comparison between Jag & Porsche, whether it is a bit faster, a lot faster?
In this video which is highly unscientific, it almost keeps up with a 997 Turbo manual which is surprising as the 7tt has a reputation for being faster than a lot of similarly powered cars

I want to change cars and on paper the XKR is the only thing that ticks all my boxes (which are: petrol, full leather including dashboard, V8, not too thirsty or unreliable, no more than £25k and 5-6 years old, not too expensive on parts / servicing, no Porsche like engine failure risk, auto, great sound system, coupe)

I do want something a lot faster though than the C4S in a straight line hence the question...?

If nimbleness, cornering ability and braking are not part of your requirements the Jag will be fine. If they are, go for the porker

Yep I know they're totally different cars, I have a 997 C4S at the moment & 2 Boxsters before, what I want now is a load more power hence the question about the power aspect of the XKR & whether anyone has driven one?

Looks like on wiki at least a carrera s in 997 guise is about the same acceleration wise. The jags slower than a 996 turbo.

I have just taken delivery of a Project 7 (it has been a long time coming). It is the first time i have driven a Jaguar and comparing to my 991 GT3 RS the first thing I noticed is that the ride is very smooth. It basically drives over bumps as if it is on cushions. Even in Dynamic Mode where it stiffens up the suspension it is still very comfortable to drive. On all other points the GT3 RS is the more hardcore/complete car except the noise where the P7 is just insane. It leaves a big grin on your face all the time. The car is truly bonkers, not very practical and feels pretty special !

I think its a very different story. One should not compare rear-engine car with a Jag, for me and many its a completely different experience in terms of driving. So other criterias became completely irrelevant.

Can't help directly with your query but perhaps try one of the AMG variants. I have a C55 and in a straight line it has a whole load more shove than my Boxster. There's a lot of AMG cars in your price bracket. The 55k cars also respond well to cheap mild tuning.
