carwow experiences
Discussion
I've been getting a few quotes from carwow for a few models of cars and some quotes are pretty good (20% off list) whilst others haven't had a penny off.
Who's had experience of purchasing new cars from carwow? It seems a good way to buy a new car as I'd struggle to negotiate such discounts myself.

Used it to buy a Tiguan last summer - no p/x so just wanted the best price, but also needed the car quickly. DtD was cheaper but wouldn't connect me to their chosen dealer unless I agreed I would wait the factory lead-time.
Through Car-Wow, six dealers quoted, including the nearest and next to nearest dealer to me (both part of the same group). They know how far away you are and I got the impression that they quote lower the further away you are, but there's no way I would buy a new from hundreds of miles away for the sake of £250.
I focussed on the cheapest and the next to nearest dealers (had already had an experience that made me wonder whether I was being filmed for candid camera at the nearest dealer) and pressed them a bit using the DtD price as a reference point. Got close enough to it with the nearby dealer.
The thing that most amazed me compared to usual contact with dealers is how fast they respond - apparently CarWow rates them on speed of response and a couple of them were coming back in minutes no mater what time of day I asked questions.
Supplying dealers service was very good - they got the car in 8 days - and got the full showroom unveil, bottle of champagne, tank of fuel etc. So they can't hate CarWow that much. I imagine they were less than thrilled when I withdrew from the PCP a week later though.

I have been quoted some good prices via Carwow, so they are at least informative and potentially useful to drive down the price with other dealers. Does anyone know how buying by Carwow with TOPCASHBACK works? Topcashback says you get £55 back for using it, but gives no clues as to how you do the deal by Topcashback. Apparently once you do said deal there is a further £25 Amazon voucher available for completing a review as well! but again I don't know how

Organised my Fiesta St-3 lease through carwow.
No deposit, 10kmiles, 24 Months, £214pm.
How out of interest? Quoted to buy it then messaged the dealers who replied? I didn't think you could put out a request for lease pricing but it would be great if it's possible!Organised my Fiesta St-3 lease through carwow.

I don't do any of the cash-back sites - seems like a recipe for angst, which I could without - but I imagine you have to open Car-Wow through Topcashback's site. Once the transaction was complete you'd probably have to log a claim.Fastpedeller said:

That worked OK - they send you a link, you do the review and they send a voucher. They ask you to do it as soon as the car is ordered (the dealer tells them) but I wanted to wait until we got it - that was fine with them.

After they'd responded with cash/PCP deals through CarWow I got a couple of VW dealers to quote lease terms. At one dealer the same person dealt with it, at another they passed it on to their lease guy.here's one more trick, once all the quotes has come in, take even lower number than the lowest quote and write message to all of them stating that for example John Hendrick Honda dealership offered me the car for £9500 (when in fact they have offered it to you for £10k), and ask them to beat that if they can

One of my colleague apparently got a great deal on a Mercedes C-Class using Carwow. He goes on about it at length and has recommends everyone try it out. Not that I'm in the market (nor, I think would I ever be for a brand new car), I checked it out one day; there seemed potential for getting a deal on some cars, depending I suppose on how lucky you are with your demand and their (over)supply. If you're after a brand new standard sort of car, you'd be a fool not to give it a go, all it takes is a couple of minutes to fill in an online form.
