Engine and model advice please

I seem to be in a rut looking for the right 987.2, determined I was going for a 3.4 engine. I'm starting to look at 981's now too but the price difference means a 2.7 engine would be more likely achievable.

Has anyone been in a similar position or owned a 3.4 and gone for a newer model 2.7 ?

I'd like to hear your advice and findings please.

Drive both but the 987.2s is a way better drive than a 2.7 981!!

As above, plus the 981 will depreciate more.

Really depends on what you want. 2.7 is the sweeter engine, but struggles to pull excessively high gears. The 3.4 has more mid range grunt. The 981 handles and rides better - but has worse steering. The interior of the 981 is a big step up in class and has more room. Only you can judge what matters most.

Hugely down to what matter to you.

I'm 6'4 and don't fit in a 987 so it was an easy choice for me My own view of this is I would probably take the 981 if it is a daily drive but for weekend only use the 987 might be better.
