New Battery - alarm wont turn off

Got into the car (thanks M@H), the alarm then went off - but my fob won't turn it off! Checked the battery on the fob and it's fine.

Am frustrated and cold now! Anyone have any handy tips? Can I bypass the alarm, if so how? Will it set itself- is this normal?

Time for a stiff drink!

You'll need to arm and un-arm the alarm using the key in the door IIRC. (thats the pushing the key in 3/4" before turning left and right thing) If in doubt check the Filofax, its well described in there.

Do you know if I can I do that from the passenger lock as the drivers lock now seems to be stuck in the vertical position (no movement in any direction).

Yes.. both locks have the same function.

If you have had a flat battery the alarm may just have gone out of sync with remote.
The thing to do would be to disconnect the battery completely for about 30 mins then reconnect with the remote handy. Hopefully that will get it going again (if the battery is not fully charged this will happen again though). Good luck.
