S steering rack gaiters

Hi all, just getting back to my rebuild and was connecting the rack to the column and noticed the ends of the rack gaiters had perished. They have only been on about 12 months in the garage. If I remember they are chevette?
Can anyone point me in the direction of some good quality ones that will last a bit longer ?

It's Kiley Clinton that do the rack overhauls Steve, but I would think that any decent motor factors could sort out a suitable pair of bellows/gaiters/whatever. There are several makes of universal ones that can be cut down to suit.

Noticed today that one of mine needs replacing also,tried looking for the ones you used Joe, but no luck, I like your technique though! Will try Kiley.

Why not just look on eBay ?

If the body of the rack is Vauxhall Chevette would these not fit straight on without Joe's ingenious "special tool" ?

Not sure why but I believe some sellers put a "1" in front of the price when out of stock rather than remove the ad ?

I recently read on somebody's blog that Chevette rack gaiters are too short for the modified S rack.

modified rack is a fair bit longer than standard on the v8, less so on the v6.

a quick call to kylie would no doubt render a very suitable response

Just rang Kylie....on the V8 offside is MGB, nearside is Cortina going to end up sending him the whole rack only £125.00 for full refurb!
