We have a very very small army of Polish, Russian and even American designers, developers and programmers now and my role is to pay them - I totally cocked up by using paypal initially (£55!!) so I am after recommendations please.

I used to do this at DST but it wasnt "me" doing it and I know we used HiFx however Moneycorp has been recommended - what say the PH sages please.

I use Transferwise, mainly because it's ridiculously simple and the rate is keen/transparent on smaller sums (hundreds rather than thousands).

Another vote for Transferwise
1000 UKP to European IBAN account direct from my bank costs 70 UKP, plus 7 UKP conversion fee, and a stty conversion rate
1000 UKP via Transferwise cost 7 UKP total, at the 'mid rate' exchange rate.

Each transfer takes a minute to organise online, and the money's usually in the receiving bank the same afternoon.
It can't be fully automatic, like a standing order, for example you need to accept their exchange rate, but the process is very easy.

A couple of transactions / month here

Have used travelex (UK Forex), American Express and Transferwise

Any of the above (and more I am sure) will be so much better value that your standard bank offering should look shamefully expensive

Currently settled on transferwise - easy to use and about the lowest prices generally

I use AFEX.
average payment 10k. could be as low as 180euro. mid last week spot rate given was 1.21.
transaction fee is zero (they used to get a fiver, but got it waived)
only hassle is phoning for quote, which is e-mailed back within a couple of hours.
I only buy euro's.
not recommending, just an option.

We use Moneycorp to send money between US, UK, various EU and Asian countries. We are sending money every week. The customer service team is very responsive to general questions. We've never had a problem (touch wood) and the rates are good. IIRC we have to transact $10k of currency per annum which is less than we send per week.
