Purple blanket? Council.

Skidmark up her chuff? Council.

Laying down in the road between two White Van Men? Priceless.

I can sort of see how this happens, though a bit of an odd thing to do. We were on a French motorway just south of Paris a few years ago that ground to a halt for about 4 hours after a truck went across both carriageways. Not a single vehicle moved for a very long time, and there were no motorbikes weaving through as I think they stopped all traffic joining the autoroute and put a diversion in place a junction up. We were all parked up lounging about sitting on the barriers trying to enjoy the sunshine. Was a very strange and frustrating experience.

In the end, the police opened a gate to a farmer's field where 2000 cars and lorries bumped off across the field and onto some back route in the middle of nowhere, which was a complete nightmare as we were all in convoy heading vaguely around the blockage to the next junction when we eventually met the diverted traffic somewhere near Blois. That was a long day...

Saw something like this quite a few years ago when at least 8 people of oriental appearance piled out of a very secondhand Toyota, opened the boot and started to eat their lunch. Forward a few moments and a police car drives up the hard shoulder, slows down. Police driver shouts "Get back in your car. This is a motorway, not a fking picnic park"
