Say if you've been to the docs and they order a big CT scan and lots of blood tests. Once the results come in and its something big, would they get you to come in very quickly to discuss or would they just stick you on the normal appointment schedule for a meeting in a few weeks?
In my experience quite quickly. Unfortunately most of the time with the NHS no news is good news but the wait for the actual outcome can be quite traumatic.
In my experience if it's serious they get you in fast. I had a head scan on a Saturday, phone call 0830 Tuesday morning asking me to go to see my GP that day to be told I had a brain tumour. If it's not serious or no significant findings USUALLY you'll hear reasonably soon I gather.
