I'm looking to find a dietitian to work with a group of 6 or 8 of us for a week or two.

Where would be the best place to look for someone?

We're based in South Bucks if it makes a difference.

A dietitian works in a hospital with people who have recognised medical conditions and particukar nutritional requirements.

A nutritionist works with the general population. The training and quali differs.

If you and your pals want someone to tell you what to eat then you want a personal trainer with a nutrition quali or training.

I've not had particularly good experiences with nutritionists in the past and thought that a dietitian would likely have a better base of knowledge given what the qualification entails.

I'm after someone a bit more "serious" than "a PT with a nutrition qualification".

As I say a dietitian works with people who have medical disorders and resultant nutritional requirements. If you/your friends are in good health and have normal digestive systems then a dietitian is not what you want.

Generally in good health although a few minor issues.

So, let's change it slightly then - replace dietitian with nutritionist in the original question...

Could you go to KFC and see who isn't there and hire them?

I know a few, but I work in food manufacture. A close friend is a nutritionist for one of the major UK retailers.

OP, what is it that you want this nutritionist to do for you?

Perhaps I can PM you and we can go from there?

Great, I can't get email in the day but will reply tonight. If you don't get a reply then say and I'll find a way of getting an email/tel no o you.

Try Laura Thomas (PHD), based on London. Not a dietitian but a "registered" nutritionist meaning she has proper qualifications and knows her S@#t.

She advocates and follows a plant based diet but "hardly any of my clients are vegan, I’m still cool if you eat meat and cheese; you won’t get any judgement here".

Quick google search will find her.
