Hi everyone,

Just picked up my new Gransport on Saturday and had the rediculously cheap (NOT!) £2,500 infotainment GPS system put in the car. I understand they are the same Sat Nav systems as used on the Ferraris.

If so, does anyone have any handy tips or any issues/ experiences with them as the handbook is just toooo long and boring to spend time reading?

Cheers,

Stu

Congrats on the Gransport, look forward to seeing / eharing it out at a PH meet at somepoint!

Afraid I cnanot help you with the Becker system - I've got the old version in my 3200 - but I don't really use the navigation on it as it takes up the single CD slot and I'm never organised enough to load the boot changer with the right music!

Thanks for the note Rich,

Having a colour Sat Nav screen in my Cayenne V8, I was reticent in paying £2.5K for a Sat Nav Stereo with no screen like the Cayenne. I think the 4200 Coupe has a screen as standard. In hindsight should have got the standard car stereo and then had it replaced with an Alpine-style pop out system with full screen.

It'll be interesting to see how the Gransport compares to the 996 as my daily driver into the good ole city of London, fighting with the White Vans on the A13!!

The 4200 Sat Nav is very slow....

In fact the whole "Infotainment" console is at best clunky!

The single din GranSport Becker is probably better, though I would not now bother with a built in Nav system as I use an IPAQ powered Tomtom unit (£ 400 all in) in my other car that is far superior!!!

Look forward to hearing about the car Stu...
I'm sticking with the 3200 until next year now, but a Gransport is on the list to drive as a replacement...

Ooops, not a good time to ask for feedback then. I hope you get it sorted, I am sure there will be some help along from those with CC's.

The info centre in my 02 car was the same, clunky occasional freeze's etc. they tried a new software re-boot to no avail, instead replaced the whole'NIP?' unit last month under warranty and it is now perfectly smooth and as quick as any i have come across(porsche, toyota, alfa etc.)
