Quite a lot of useful information here. Are any phers going to take advantage of this to test their willpower? To see if nicotine really is the boss or whether they actually still have control over this drug.
Here is the giving up smoking website: www.givingupsmoking.co.uk/
And here is the Allen Carr website: www.allencarrseasyway.com/
This could be an opportunity for smokers to save themselves from a lot of future problems.

For those interested in taking it up
www.marlboro.com
For those interested in continuing with the Noble pursuit of smoking may I suggest a short wander down to your smoking place of choice and relax in the knowledge that as a smoker, outside, you get more fresh air than anyone else in your office who doesnt smoke...
When is national 'no whinging like a blob' day I wonder?

When is "National Bruciebabe Day" ?
(when everything enjoyable is banned)
I had a couple of lunchtime pints yesterday followed by Sunday lunch with some very nice wine and then the Grand Prix on TV. Came to work in the Cerb today and got 7,000 rpm at full throttle a few times on the back lanes. Something I will repeat on the way home. Tomorrow I think I will use the Ferrari instead.
See, I like enjoyable things.

It takes will power and guts to give up smoking. I did it 1 month 3 weeks 4 days and 7 hours ago No smoking in MY house now.
All smokers are smelly people
I blow my smoke in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!!!

Sorry, will be carrying on regardless myself. Don’t want to give up yet. There’s no point in trying if your heart’s not in it.
Interesting to note the price of the nicotine patches etc though at the local Shoes. No one profiteering there then, on the basis that you’re willing to pay £4.00+ for a packet of cigarettes.
Makes me mad given that there are so many out there who do want to give up but could be discouraged by the cost of the substitutes/ aids.
Good luck though to all of you who are planning to start giving up on Wednesday though.

As a very moderate smoker (about 5 per day at most) I get a bit hacked off (geddit??) with being made to feel like a leper. I never smoke around people's children, I don't drop fag butts on the pavement, I don't smoke in other people's houses if they are non-smokers (in fact I wouldn't even presume to ask if I could), I never blow smoke over people and I rarely smoke in restaurants, even in the smoking section.
I am really quite fed up with people making comments about my "filthy habit", especially total strangers and being treated like a paedophile just because I happen to enjoy the odd puff.

Well done.
I fully intend to continue smoking until I can no longer 'strike a light'.
I applaud myself for my bravery in the face of certain death and for my personal financial generosity in order to provide non-smokers with a better-funded NHS.
*tears welling...*

It will give me great pleasure to light up on "National No Smoking Day". I will stop smoking one day, but not when a bunch of health-fascist nannies tell me to...
It could be a great opportunity to get a lot of free fags from all the 'quitters'.
It fact, that gives me a great idea for a "stop smoking" website.
"Finding it hard to quit smoking ? Don't be tempted by keeping part-used packets around the house; send them to me for secure destruction (by fire)."

Hoo Effin' Ray.
Will you please stop harping on about smoking? You are not going to change the minds of those of us on PH who smoke. I understand you might have some personal issues with smoking, but you've made your point now.
Go and have a play on the ASH website.
We like F.O.R.R.E.S.T. here, got it????
