Wiper blades for Griff

Good luck getting any decent ones from Halfords. The Halfords ones fell apart after 3 months and the Bosch ones can't cope with the curvature of the windscreen. The original Bosch and Champion ones are difficult to source.
PIAA have told me that a 16" version of their curved silicoln wiper blade will be available in June. Alternatively, I've heard rumours Leven are doing something with wiper blades.

I have exactly that problem with the Bosch ones that are fitted. They miss a bit of the screen because they don’t follow the curve correctly. Otherwise they look and work fine. Looking for a cure to keep MOT man happy. I will report back on what Halfords have and if they work. I guess the original fitting is a Ford part or the like, so if any of you are still on the original blades would be interesting to know it they have a makers logo or part no.

I did exactly that for my Alfa which has a very curved passenger side wiper blade and no PIAA unit available and it worked a treat. Very highly recommend the silicone wipers, after a couple of weeks you find you hardly need the wipers on because of the coating the leave on the windscreen.
Will you keep this thread updated Rich because I am very interested in doing the same to the Griff myself. Ta
Halfords had no stock of the 16” Bosch blades so I have fitted a pair of the “own brand” fit all ones. Inital tests seem to indicate they work Ok but a quick inspection reveals why they are cheaper. Obviousally the in store computer has not heard of TVR, so was unable to recoment a particular type. I was amused when Boy one asked “What does TVR come under” boy two with great authority replies “they were part of Rover but now they come under Ford”. Oddly neither were sucsessfull.

The original blades on my 99 Griff are Champion.

I tried this to put a new Bosch rubber bit into the old Bosch curved blade. Unfortunately, the old Bosch blade didn't have the new Bosch blade's metalwork on the end which stops the rubber part and associated metal backing from gradually working it's way out of the blade. Hence it eventually embeds itself in the bonnet causing you to have to get out into the rain every 50 miles to rescue it.
Of course it'll probably be different with the PIAA rubber bit and champion blade but it certainly wasn't as cunning a plan as I had originally anticipated.
Personally, I'm happy to wait until June/July for the proper PIAA version.
