Advice on :-

I'm considering buying a cheapo video camera..nothing flashy ..easy to use..no bells or whistles etc

Something for a real novice but good enough for taking the odd vid that will give a real pro finished production.

Something to show the grand children in the years to come (not that far off)Like a blat to a local pub The Surrey Run or maybe even The London Tunnel Meet

Any ideas.

MiniDV id the way to go. You get to record everything in a digital format. There are also lots of progs to allow you to play with your tape. Get one that has DV in & out so you can load it to your pc - out and back again - in

Well I'm as technophobic as they come, but I've managed to find my way around this. Also my 10 year old Daughter managed to shoot some great footage at DOTY with it.
