I believe there are bits of software out there that can remove the restrictions completely......allegedly

Try searching for something called DVDDecrypter or something....

Also FreeRIP will do the decoding for you (region free)... the legitimacy of doing it is doubtful though!

Allegedly the best is DVD Shrink 3.2 it can also be set to shrink the DVD onto a std single layer DVDR. it also strips all region codings off it or you can select what coding you need on it.
