Competent online or phone stockmarket trading?
Discussion
Can anyone recommend a broker or site for execution-only share trading? It must be able to cope with large trades without transferring you eight times in the process. It's just taken the Lloyds TSB 65 mins to do one transaction this morning, with the stock climbing 3% over that interval. Deeply pissed off and want an alternative.
Thanks

Seconded on selftrade, through Cahoot.
I only have limited experience, but the phone lines have been very helpful. The first time I called, I was on an old phone that couldn't handle the "press 1 for..." and hung up. Ten minutes later, they called me "Our records show that you called us a few minutes ago. Can I help?".
I've had several calls to resolve problems. They made the effort to sort things out properly. Clearly a call centre that's based in Britain, and overstaffed (which wins my business).

Charles Schwab very good
Charles Schwab Europe were taken over by Barclays stockbrokers sometime in the last 12 months.
Lloyds need to sort their act out. Although at the moment they are re-jigging their operation and about to introduce online trading etc at discounted rates (ie catching up with everyone else).
