Public seemed remarkably close to that! Any chance of asbestos being in that cloud?

Bloody hell, that is remarkably close, I'm surprised people were allowed to stand that close.

That was a big thing with 9/11, wasn't it? All the exposure to asbestos when the towers collapsed.

You'd have to think in this day and age that there would have to be no asbestos in the building for it to be destroyed like that.

The World Trade Center Health Registry estimates about 410,000 people were exposed to a host of toxins including asbestos during the rescue, recovery and clean-up efforts that followed 9/11.

I was about 150m from the nearest tower ( I was in Collingwood Place, just below the yellow church symbol in the pic below )

No chance of any asbestos remaining in that building- it would have had a full demolition survey and anything suspected as being ACMs (asbestos containing materials) would have been control stripped.

I was stood about 10 yards from the OP.

The dust cloud looked to be fiberglass based, you can see the shinny fibres all over my car. Not sure if it does you any harm but bloody itchy!

Yeah, not sure I'd want to be breathing whatever's in that. Still, looks as though the skyline's much improved.
