Thunder event off for 2005
Discussion
There is a bit in the TVRCC site but I was surprised not to see more and a post on here.
I am really disappointed it isn't happening.
The article in Sprint states the club will focus its effort on supporting more regional events like BNG and similar events in the midlands and the south. Anyone know what these events may be as I live in Brum and am not aware of any in the midlands (unless its the Growl or the Yellow event, both of which I am going to anyway).
The clubs finances are supposed to be healty so why can't it happen as there was no Back Home in 2005 and no now "Mania" event.
Seriously cheesed off.

In your area don't forget BBWF (25th anniversary celebration) or the Tuscaneers. And you aren't too far away from BNG which sounds really good.
Coming up you also have the Mini Le Mans with the Bristish GTs at Thruxton. Then there's a TVRCC trackday and more GTs at Castle Combe. Oh... Don't forget Le Mans and Goodwood FoS......
I'm really looking forward to Thruxton
So postponing TVR Thunder isn't going to deprive us too badly as there is still tons going on. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if some sort of TVR meet still takes place at the Rock that weekend, just not the full monty. Could still be pretty good
Finally, from what I hear, the club would love to hold Back Home if it can get a date for the factory visit.

Tuscaneers is weeknd of the 20/21st August which clashes with the Griff Growl ( I will be at the Growl).
What is the view on keeping a meet on that weekend at Rockingham. We can
and
on the Saturday, have a
, and a
on Saturday night,
, wake up
and possibly
and watch the
on the Sunday.
Sounds like a good weekend to me.
If interest levels are sufficient I'll speak to the Club and Rockingham.

What a choker - real shame, I was looking forward to that.
I think an event of this size takes about 2 years to plan properly - so they were really against it - as they only started in about Jan.
They are right - there are a lot of other events going on but they are the TVR CC - they used to be good at this kind of event.
Perhaps they should have a rethink on national events.
Say - high profile 'blue ribband' event every other year (like last year's)
and a easier and cheaper event like Mania at Bruntingthorpe & other gathering that were not much more that 400 car's parked in a field.. for the other year.

Indeed it is a shame is has been put back 12 months but for understandable reasons.
We still do have a fine selection of TVR events this year so all is not lost and I
know the Car Club are hoping to help where they can with these.
I hope in some small way that C.R.E.A.M 2005 will be of interest to TVR
and other sports car owners.
Plenty of 'guests' still to be announced as we get closer..
