I've secured a new job, which is a huge leap both in promotion, money, and time free which is great for me.

The issue comes, is that I've got 3 weeks Holiday, and need to give 4 weeks notice. New job want me to start ASAP, but have listed a start date of 29th.

I currently get paid on the 20th of each month, and was trying to leave the 19th, starting at new job 22nd (week early).

As I'll have 2 weeks left, will this be added onto the end of my final paycheque?

Thankssmile

Two things I can think of for more info before anyone can really give you an idea

Is your holiday already 'accrued'? or just what you have left as a balance for the entire year Jan-Dec?

And have you discussed your idea with your current work, they may not be keen on you leaving in just 2 working weeks rather than 4, and they might even block a request to use holiday instead of working your full notice...

I haven't asked yet no. I've spoken to new job, and they're going to get back to me to confirm whether I can start a week early.

The above points, I will have to check. It runs from apr-apr, but I haven't taken any (bar one day) so it may be whats accrued already, i'll have to check.

I wanted to get everything confirmed with the new job, before handing notice in, I don't want to hand my notice in, leaving a week early only to be told not to worry and starting a week later is fine.

Without meaning to be rude - this is the kind of BS that is ruining this country. Who gives a funk what his current employer thinks or is keen on? Tell them to stick it up their arse OP. They may 'block a request to use holiday' - are you even serious? It's a JOB not incarceration in prison.

Ok - he may only get paid for the leave accrued in the year so far - but that's all he is entitled to so the new/better job will be compensation for that.

This BS fawning attitude to employers - usually by fools who refer to the company they work for as 'the organisation' is for utter tards!
Here's the news - 99% of 'organisations' would get rid of you tomorrow if it would save them a nickel! Having loyalty to these people is for utter mongs!

To provide closure to quite possibly the shortest thread ever!

I've handed my notice in, and am leaving a week early with it to be treated as holiday to make it up to the 4 week.
