IT Contracting

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am now in the market for a new job and have previously thought about going contracting. This now looks like a good option and wondered if anyone had any advice or any jobs going. I am a MS SQL Server Business Intelligence Architect and am also currently learning Data Science.

Re-write your CV so it reads in terms of projects / assignments you have completed (and less roles you have held)

Sign up with loads of agencies

Get your house in order - if you are serious about contracting
(Ltd co, insurance, accountant, Vat registered etc etc)

Cheers for that, have looked into it before so would definitely go down the Ltd company route etc.

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent accountant either online or in the Reading area?

Also, anyone got info on mortgages for contractors?

and don't forget to read on IR35 new rules. This is a big topic in contracting world these days.

Will definitely chat to you about contracting on Saturday, but might put it off for a couple of years. Think I might be accepting a perm role tomorrow if the offer comes through. Money not so good, but need the stability right now.
