After not getting much help on the GG forum i've finally stumbled across this.

i've traded in my 650s for a 675LT and i'm struggling like mad to get it insured. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Pete,

As replied to on other thread....

Try NFU, they seem very helpful and certainly seem to be competitive. Phone your local branch look it up on google as you cannot do it online. 650s to 675lt...brilliant. Great car and good luck.

Try A Plan private clients in Thatcham, that's who McLaren use and many on the FB group. Also mannings if you want track insurance.

Join the FB group, details elsewhere in this section, and ask the question as there are approx 20 LT owners there.

Pete, I'd give a +1 for A Plan. Insured a couple of Ferraris through them, good service & competitive premiums. Also very helpful when I had to make a claim earlier this year.

We always use NFU for insurance, they may not be cheapest, but they are easy to deal with, they don't ask stupid irrelevant questions, they pay out to full cost if the car is under two years old and they don't insist on Trackers etc, at any value. Also, you know they will pay out and not try to wriggle out of a claim.

carinsurance4u have been helpful in the past, Brokers do struggle more with McLaren compared to other brands because there is less history around re[airs costs.

Chubb's should really be up there and then I use Henderson Taylors a broker that specialises in low mileage contracts.. and they often manage to include track day cover which in the case of an LT is a must.. as otherwise the car is kind of wasted if you never manage to take it to track. They manage to get AVIVA specialised contracts and others that do agreed value and track day cover combined which is pretty rare... give them a call
