I currently have around 30 1200x600x50 cardboard boxes taking up space in my garage.

I called my local tip this afternoon but as its business waste they want £80 per 1/2 ton (minimum of 1/2 ton)

Now this is a rather bit expensive to my mind for what is supposed to be a recyclable material.

So other than using my "waste carriers licence" to dump them at the roadside wink (Joke)

Does anyone know any legal and cheap way to dispose? Surely there must be some types of business that want cardboard?

Can you take it to the tip in a private car ?

Maybe not in one go.

Are they going to question where you got it ?

Unfortunately my S2000 (my only car) wont accommodate many boxes, so would be a lot of trips!!

Take them to your local tip in three or four trips after ripping them into smaller pieces.

They won't even notice.

Otherwise:-

They sell these in Aldi for like £15 and are pretty handy for burning all the cornflake boxes etc!

If they'd work as moving house boxes, I'd ebay them. We ended up buying a st load of them, 20 for a tenner from a frozen food place because they were just the right shape for my pregnant wife to be able to put some stuff into without stretching herself or making them too heavy

Local Facebook group, someone will want to take them
E: well maybe! Only 5cm high? Might be some niche use for them you never know.

Build the boxes up and use them as a landing pad when you do your next stunt jump
If you're not a stuntman, nows a good time to start as you already have a landing pad.

Just advertise them for free on facebook or gumtree. Somebody will take them.

I'll tke them if you're based in. Distil. I'm moving house next month so they will come in useful. The rest I'll just throw in the skip at work for you

Could you ask the parts manufacturer who sold you the parts in the boxes if they'd like them back as they seem to be a specialised size. It would save you and them a bit of cash.

I used to put ours on Freecycle for use with a house move. Never any shortage of takers.

Can you not just flat pack them and take them to the tip for recycling? Its only 30 boxes.
