Hi all, well this is my first post having taken ownership of my first Cerbera after 22 years of waiting........

Lots of small issues to sort but the inability to lock the car does seem a big one.

It wasn't till the day I collected it that it was pointed out that the immobiliser had been bypassed and that there was now a small key installed to power the ignition circuit prior to pressing the noise button.

The issue I have is that when you press lock on the key fob, I do get 3 flashes on the hazards, 2 long and 1 short however NONE of the doors lock but the alarm still arms itself. (Siren sounds if any doors open)

I can a also disarm the alarm with the associated single flash and all is good.

So any suggestions ?

Does the alarm control the central locking by sending a signal to lock ?

Just would like some extra input before I spend £300+ on a new alarm and immobiliser

Cheers in advance

Welcome to Cerbera ownership and the fun of Meta alarm systems (the standard one on the Cerbera) smile

The alarm should flash 3 times, all short, with accompanying beeps and then the windows should go up, the doors should lock and the alarm should prime

If your doors aren't locking, try priming the alarm with the window half lowered, and see if that rises too - it should do

If the immobiliser is bypassed then that is more likely to be around the starter motor, and the fuel pump, rather than the door locks I would think as that is a common / kind of common area

I'd give Abacus Alarms a call

http://www.abacuscaralarms.co.uk/tvr-alarms.html

They were very helpful with my car and programmed me a replacement fob etc. [I don't know them personally, just recommending good service] and there is also Carl Barker (try searching on the forums) who is a TVR alarm guru that can help

HTH!

First thing to try is to ensure you have the fob in your pocket and that the alarm is disarmed, then disconnect the car battery for a couple of minutes and reconnect it. That does often sort out a confused alarm.

If that doesn't help it sounds as if there is an issue with the locking circuit, but I won't go into details of troubleshooting that on a public forum.

If the windows don't go up fully when you close the door........it could be the Reed switches have had enough of the constant bathing they get everyone it rains.....or like mine the door magnet in the sill fell out so said. Reed switches stopped working.....car always thinks the door is open and alarm likes not a bit of it!! And won't lock the car..... quick items worth a check....good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll have a proper look at it over the weekend and hopefully make some progress
