This was my solution

Keep it off the carpet. I can't recall the regulation but the material and sizing of this bracket meets requirements

and I added some guides to help with access

Hi Bobfather, did you make these brackets yourself, or did you buy them? As I would be interested in a pair. smile
I'm also loving this solution from Bobfather, did you make any drawings you could share on here with the TVR community?

I'm sure there would be enough demand to start a group buy thread and commission a fabricator to make up a batch.

Perhaps its the sort of thing Vaurien could do for us?

Original drawing has gone but I did some measurements this morning as follows

The bend in the plate is to take account of the upward sweeping angle of the original top mounting point surface. Without the bend the extension plate would exert a downward leverage on the original mounting socket. The bend was made in my garage using a vice and hammer so it isn't very precise but the leverage issue relates to the shoulder hight of the wearer so perfection isn't important. I just aimed for both bolt holes to be horizontal when in fitted

The easy access guides were made many years ago, they are 'handed' and made out of spare materials I had in stock. The round bar is welded into the plate

Brilliant Bob,

Many thanks from us all for taking the time to do the drawing and giving us the additional detail.

I think this may work in the Tamora as well. Thanks again. Something to add to the job list.

I did similar using a couple of rose joints (one per side), some long bolts and some long hollow spacer - works like a charm...

As per one of the replies, this works a treat in the S too (carried out to both mine) but didn't work on the Tamora.
