Mileage expectations Goodyear Eagle F1's on 996 Carrera 4

Hi Guys,

Long time lurker sorry but does anyone know/have experience of how many miles you can expect out of Goodyear Eagle F1's on the rear of a 996 Carrera 4?

Driving style is sensible with the odd hard acceleration down say a slip road 3 or 4 times a month.

There is a reason I am asking as there is a possibility of my tyres being switched while having the wheels refurbished.

Mileage expectations on that car with general driving, I would say around 4-7k? (not specific to that tyre though).
What are they at now, and how many miles have you done since new?

Hopefully you'll do better than the <800 miles I got out of a faulty set of Continental sport contacts I had, again normal driving.

(paid to have them sent back to Conti for testing to which they concluded 'nothing wrong with them' )

I get 8-10k out of rears on my 996. Contis and MPS's, driven reasonably hard.

Avoid Pirellis... Only managed a few thousand out of a pair.

How about 24,000 miles? On a 991 though. And still on the same fronts at 36,000 miles...........

We are talking 2850 miles and the tyres are right on the legal limit. The date stamp for the tyres is also 14 months prior to the date they were fitted adding to the suspicion they have been swapped

The wheel repair company involved insist they haven't been switched (they are a very reputable company not a back street garage)

Is the wear even across the width of the tyre?

Yes even wear across the whole tyre

Not a chance you'd have worn them out in that time - do you have any health check or service paperwork which might have recorded the date on them?

They've never been known as the longest lasting tyres but that does sound very high wear, especially with the type of driving you have been doing. However, as you've suggested unless you have proof then there's not a huge amount you can do.
