Well i was advised at my last MOT that the plates were starting to look a bit rusty...Not flaky so i bit the bullet and drove to Ipswich this morning which i must say has been a bloody lovely day...It felt like i was driving to the coast as the weather was beautiful..

Got to the farm and the smell of horse crap actually made me smile...smile

So with the services of a very good friend the sills were removed...I was cringing to be fair as i thought here we go...Swiss cheese Wedge time....
But not too grim..

Bolts out

Rear of the O/S outrigger.

The front was surprisingly clean.

And so was the rear N/S and front...We decided to clean the old scabby paint off..Rust proof/Treat and waxoyl...I had paint but it would of been difficult to paint everywhere whereas with the mix it got in to all the tight spots with the aid of an air tool applicator...Behind the plates also.

The offending area was cut..Cleaned welded and treated so all good...The main seatbelt fixings are rock solid still which is a blessing...Thank you Wedgegods...smile

And while i was waiting my new vented discs and pads were fitted...Top job...Top bloke...Thanks Mr K....

Happy days

Its what owning a Wedge is all about....

Nice result - that the great thing about the models with removable sills - easy access to the chassis.

I was pleasantly surprised if I'm honest, I thought it would of been a lot worst especially as she has lived outside for the 3 years i have owned her and 2 from the previous owner...Perhaps all that wind rustling around her undercarriage has kept her dry...smile
