Just got the Cerb back from the garage on Saturday after having cam shafts replaced and cracked manifolds replaced with ACT (non-performance) ones. The cams that were in there before were mismatched with one of the older types and one of the newer ones. Both replaced with newer types.

When starting from cold, idle is ~850-900 but when warmed up is ~1200-1250. The pops and bangs are also a lot more prevalent. The water temp sensor was playing up a bit so cleaned up the corrosion on the plug and reset the adaptives which solved the sensor fault but that hasn't changed anything WRT the idle. The throttle values are a bit off; TP2 is 15.2 and TP1 is ~17.3 at idle. TP1 also seems to be going bad as some of the values are a bit spurious when using the throttle - can jump up to ~50% when TP2 is ~25%.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a duff T-pot. Plug into diag software, fit new T-pot and balance, take it from there.

Sounds like a dodgy TP and a setup issue.. New TP and setup required.

The same throttle pot was replaced in March 2015. How long should these last?

Also, just tried to buy a new one off TVR-Parts and added one at £55 to the basket, created an account, clicked on the pay button, an error popped up and basket emptied, then went back to the item page and it was now at £77, 40% more!?

Are those the right ones for a 4.5? The ones I can find are all grey/white like the 4.2 TPs whereas the 4.5 TPs are blue.

Got the new throttle pot fitted on Sunday and managed to adjust the idle and get the pots adjusted to minimise the adaptive errors and now idles and runs in general much better, especially slow moving traffic.

Adjusting the throttle pots doesn't seem to give much adjustment though. Am I doing it right by loosening off the two screws that hold the pot on and just trying to rotate it slightly?
