Gaming rig for racing
Discussion
I'm sure this has been done, but a quick search resulted in nothing recently.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for a gaming rig for a wheel and pedal setup that doesn't cost the earth?
Something like this, only less... bad.

Do you need one that will hold monitors, or sit in front of the tv?Does anyone have any good recommendations for a gaming rig for a wheel and pedal setup that doesn't cost the earth?

I built this one for around £120 in materials and added a Logitech G920 wheel/pedals/shifter.

Try Gt Omega, I was recommended them on here for their folding wheel stand but if I had the space I'd go full cockpit (which I can add as an add on.
Here's their full cockpits though http://www.gtomegaracing.com/gt-omega-racing-drivi...
My wheelstand http://www.gtomegaracing.com/wheel-stands/gt-omega... has the V2 gear shift mount and holds my G29 and shifter.

That's a great build!
Sadly I need it to hold a screen, and I really don't have the time to build anything at the moment
Oculus Rift / HTC Vive Sadly I need it to hold a screen, and I really don't have the time to build anything at the moment

I have a simulator cockpit and was in a quandary about building a triple screen setup. In the end I bought a Rift as it's cheaper than 3x 27" monitors + the frame required to hold them.
p.s. you don't want the screen mounted to the cockpit, and movement will cause the screens to wobble

I have an MDF seat and was looking to buy 3x 27" 1080p monitors plus a load of Unistrut to make a frame. Each monitor was ~£150 and then ~£100 of unistrut comes to £550, which is around the cost of a Rift. Add the fact that I didn't have to find a home for the monitors and the Rift makes a whole load of sense!

Jon recently changed mine. I went for the gt omega with the single monitor stand (they do a triple too) and was less than most of the competition including the monitor stand. Seat is very comfy and it had speaker mounts for my 5.1 egg speakers. Rig has tons of adjustment and service was 1st class
This is the one I built. Used bits of reclaimed wood from a recycler and a bmw seat from a scrap car which cost nothing. With all the monitor mounts came in at about £300. Don't ask re the monitors, upgrades on computer etc.
Can only link at the moment but started out as a new year party top gear style SIARPC challenge with a ps4, a Parker knoll chair and an old steering wheel and pedal set.

It's the Stephen191 posting.
Now running an i7 with 32 gb ram and a 1080 gtx graphics card. About to water cool the whole thing as graphics card is running 4 x 1080 27 inch monitors. Water cooling is more expensive than I expected
