Well, a few of us went to Oulton Park on Saturday. Twas my first outing in my (new for me) 993 RS.

Here is a demonstration of what happens in a 911 if your foot slips off the brake pedal resulting in one entering a 90 degree right-hander way too fast.

Incidentally the photographer missed the first part of the drama, basically the tankslapper bit. Crikey. My brother was in the car and he jumped clean out of the car when we got back to the pits because he wanted to throw up.

The only consolation (apart from the fact that I didn't hit anything) was that I knew the cause of the spin.......slippy metal pedals!!

Foot slips off the brake pedal....really?

Carry more speed and if for some reason you do lift off ,or the camber changes,,dip the clutch...as she does the full 360 re-engage when you are facing where you want to go and boot it ...practice makes perfect!

but you've already got round the righthander.

Best bet for future reference is go staight on and wait for the marshalls to wave you on. Hence it's a good place to practice late braking.

You are dead right Tony. In the heat of the moment I didn't realise that you could go straight on in emergencies. I saw a TVR Tuscan race car do just that later in the day.

I know, it does look a bit tame doesn't it Paul? Made my legs go to jelly for half an hour or so. I needed to go and get a cup of tea immediately!
