Mirrors and boot release are on the same fuse.

Consult your handbook for the fuse number.

Once in, you need to work out what's wrong. If you can't, book it in with Mat Smith

10 amp, 6 fuses from the right hand end is the likely one.

It will likely be the boot solenoid if the fuse is ok. They eventually fail and stop working.
It's quite easy to replace, situated in the boot to the left of the lock mechanism under the carpet about 4 inches down from the boot opening. It's screwed /bolted to the fibre glass inside and you need to remove those screws and turn it as you disconnect it from the lock.
Powers Performance and the other Tvr dealers supply a replacement. smile

First thing to check would be the power supply to the solenoid is ok and not just a bad connection.

forgive my ignorance but do the later chims have a boot release as well as a door release under the drivers side mirror?
if so then i believe the op is saying that the boot release works from the mirror but not from under the dash? which would point to the under dash button/wiring being the prob.

My 99 car only opens the door from the wing mirror button. I think he says he has a 98 car, and I think he just means that other buttons that open things still work.

I agree with Phazed and Classi, it is a simple system, and it can only be the fuse, a dodgy connection or the solenoid. Interested to know if his mirrors adjust, as the door button wiring is not on the same bit of the loom as the mirrors. As we all know, the mirrors only adjust and heat with the ignition on, whereas amazingly the door button works without the key in the ignition.
