On full lock whilst level and stationary there is a gap between the wheel and the upper wishbone of ~2cm. When reversing (haven't noticed going forwards yet) I can hear a scraping sound which is worse when reversing off a driveway with the change in levels. There is a notch through the powder coat down to the metal in the brand new wishbone where the alloy has hit / scrapped it.

Suspension was recently rebuilt with dampers refurbished and polybushes fitted. The same upper wishbone was replaced at the same time due to corrosion and damage in exactly the same place. Doesn't seem to be a problem on the N/S.

Do I just need to alter the steering limits or is this likely to be a symptom of something else?

Sounds fairly typical. Do you have spiders fitted?

The steering lock stop is just large nylon washer with a split that goes over the rack end under the gaiter.

Yes, I have spiders. Cool, I'll check out the nylon washer, thanks.

Might be an idea to see if fronts (with 42mm offset)
or rears (with 33mm) have been fitted scratchchin

I've got fronts all round. The rears would be further out anyway so less likely to foul.
