Does anyone know of any very good software that help with a corrupted Dbd write? I backed up loads of stuff to DVD from an old machine and, although having checked folders etc after the backup (which seemd ok) I have now gone back to the disk to find that certain folders and files are unreadable. Is it an impossibility if, as I fear, the actual write failed rather than the disk just not being readable properly.

funnily, I've tried it. It does more than some of the other freebies that I have tried. It does recognise that there are additional files/folders etc but still reports errors and warns of questionnable file size & allocations etc. The additional things it recognises are not however 'true' file names or folder names - just loads of characters. Not sure I've tried all option on it though.
