LIDL have a couple of good ones at about a tenner! Can't remember the brand but they definitely aren't 'own brand'!
We've always found Prosecco better in the sub £20 price range though!

You can often get some Bolly, Veuve Clicquot or Mumm in that price range. Not as good as the real thing but, as always, the big consideration is what tastes best to you for the price you are willing to pay!

I would prefer something less well known. Like Gosset, to give an example.

Does it have to be champagne?

Something like Nyetimber is in the price range is is excellent.

Cattier, love it! Used to be the house champagne at The Ritz I believe, it really is very good IMO.

Wel for £35 waitrose have Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut NV which is nice.
