c17 low over bentwaters?

was working on my car at bentwaters base and left just after 6pm weds to see a c17 pretty low like it was landing /just taken off , any ideas what that was about as i didnt think the runways were in use for stuff like that??

I think an A400 is about to start doing some rough runway tests at Woodbridge - I assume it was either that rather than a C17, or related to it.

We get C17s and A400Ms over all the time (particuarly C17s, which like to circle Keevil Airfield for hours on end on clear evenings) and I still confuse the two despite some fairly significant differences!

I saw the very same plane (A400 , it was definitely a turboprop) as I was sat in some slow moving traffic on the A12 near Martlesham. About 3 weeks ago there were 3 that came over the house pretty low in the middle of the night and scared the bejeesus out of the Mrs.
