I've got an pre-lci 335i currently running on Continental Sport Contacts 3. Rears are getting a little low and it seems the CSCs are now on version 5. Was just wondering if anyone had any experience of the newer tyre? Also whether anyone is running Michelin Pilot Super Sports on a 335i? I have these on another car and they've been excellent. That said, the CSC3's have been fine on the car so far.

Thanks in advance

I've just this evening put in a order a full set of Continental Sport Contact 6 for my Z4 35i - fitting early next week and will report back. I think they are only avaialble in R19+ though - been near damn impossible to find any proper reviews as the big websites tend to focus on R17 and R18 for their semi-annual comparisons.

Yes, have the 5s on my E91 335i and they're fine. A bit of slip sometimes if the tyres are cold, but overall very happy with them.

Have Conti TS850s for winter, and find the two sets to be a good combination - far better than the Michelin PS2s RFTs I was on before.

Ditto, I have C5s on my E93 335i and they work very well indeed. A revelation compared to the old RGDS

A vote here for Goodyear Eagle F1s, which I used on my mapped E92. The Eagles coped with all 400+ lb/ft of torque; great grip/traction in wet and dry. Wear was incredibly low too.

F1 is certainly one to consider.....I'm sure there are many other 335i owners using them too. Heard good things about Veredstein Ultrac Sessantas as well.

I ran Michelin Pilot Super Sports 19s on a 335i; they were my first after ditching the RFTs. I found the difference night and day, the wet grip was excellent, and they wore well too.
I put 17s on the 335i for winter and kept those rims and tried the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. They were even better for grip, wet and dry; didn't have them as long to compare wear, thoroughly but early indications better.

If you're going conti 5's I have them on my DD an old E46 325ci ; it's not a like for car comparison, but I didn't feel when I first drove them in the wet that the grip was as good as either of the Michelins. and the car is a lot less powerful.

However, I also have them on my M3; I don't have much wet driving experience, but for dry grip on more demanding drives than the ordinary E46 goes through I find them excellent. They are wearing well and evenly and I've just had to make use of the rim protectors and they did their job wink

2nd Goodyear Eagle F1s, moved to them from RFT RE50 HardAssStones ! I chose as they are the quietest tyre in this size. Wear has been great in a year although I don't do big miles. Although they have a better alloy protector the alloys still scuff with any touch of a kerb

Have had both Conti SC5's and Eagle F1's on my E91 335i. I'd say that the Goodyear, overall, was a better tyre. Sidewall seems stiffer on the Goodyear and car handles better IMO. In the wet, the Conti just about has the edge. What I will say is that both wear quite quickly. The Michelin PSS will last longer than either the Conti or the Goodyear. Not had the Michelin on a 335i, but on my M3CS they were excellent.

Thanks for all the replies. Having had a closer look it seems that to get the correct sizes I would have to go for Pilot Sport 4s, not really sure what the differences between those and Pilot Super Sports are?

Well, if you take my word for it they're better. When I mentioned that to my tyre place on the day I sold my 335i, they agreed and also said the PS4 are a newer design than the MPSS"

I've got the MP Super Sports on my 335i and they are excellent. I fitted the JB4 remap box to mine which the RFTs didn't respond to well, particularly in the wet (wheelspin in 3rd on straights).

I can't see me fitting anything else other than PS4s when I wear out the Super Sports.

I used gy assym 2 on my old pre fl e91 335i and they were good. But if it were me now I'd go mpss. However, look closely as the 2254018 May no longer be available in the MPSS 92y sidewall, only 88, and if so you'll find it too soft. I made this mistake with the first set of goodyears and had to replace them with the 92y. Still have those 88's in the garden.

Not sure on reviews but isn't there a gy assym 3 and pilot sport 4 out now?

Just put Pilot Sport 4s on my E91 LCI 325d.

Super sports weren't available in the right size (225 45 17).

Ditched the absolutely awful Conti Premium Contact run flats that were on it before.

Result? No tramlining what-so-ever, and it used to be terrible for that. Less road noise. Smoother ride and less harshness.

Very pleased.

Only £87 a corner from blackcircles too

Thought I'd come back and give some feedback on the CSC 6's - absolutely brilliant. It's been raining today so I've had the first chance to try the wet grip and braking performance and it is really quite impressive. I had a terrible set of heavily worn Pirelli PZero's on my car (blame the previous owner) so it isn't fair to make any kind of comparison but I believe the CSC 6's have just won the Evo Tyre Test 2016.

I get the impression wear rate is going to be quite poor.

My Renaultsport Clio 200 came with SC3s as oem and have been replaced with SC5s, performance is nigh on identical although I feel they have a better wear rate.

Funnily enough I also have a e91 330i msport touring currently on crap rfts and was wondering what to replace them with so many thanks op for starting this thread.

I've got an e91 335i which is currently wearing some 17 inch winter go flats and it rides lovely. I'm having an internal battle over summers. I cant decide if i should stay 17 or go 18.

I went 17s Square set up Winter Tyres back in 2015 and then kept the wheels for summer and fitted the then new
Michelin Pilot Sport 4

Best combo ever , from every aspect.
Car also felt so much lighter on 17s more like my old E46

Car was E92 335i previously on 19s with Michelin Pilot Super Sports

335i here on 225 45 17s and non run flat GY F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres. They’re a really good tyre, comfortable and quiet. When I bought the car it had Continental SSR run flats fitted, the difference is like night and day. My only regret was not selling the SSR as part worn - they had about 4-5mm tread on them when I changed them out for the GY!

I bought my Eagle F1's at 4wheelonline last month. In the short time I've had them, I can say that they are really good. I have nothing negative to say about their grip and road noise.
