Quick question, is the cigarette lighter in my '07 987 permanently live?

I'm looking for a trickle charger for the winter months and think the cigarette lighter socket is my easiest option as getting under the front bonnet in my garage is a real pain.

Thanks in advance,

Nigel.

+1 I use a CTEK charger/conditioner in the 12v lighter socket and confirm it works fine. It conditions the battery as well as keeping it charged and is so small it fits easily inside the cabin during use.

Champion, thanks for confirming this, I was considering a Ctek charger but might try to make an adaptor for the one that was supplied by the previous owner when I bought the car recently, it clips directly onto the battery and I cant open the bonnet in the garage, I'll have to check exactly what the charger / optimiser is and make my mind up.
