I've seen a few PDK cars i really like but the button shift puts me off. Can paddle shift be retro fitted. I realise a new steering wheel would be needed.

Thanks

Yes. You can replace steering wheel with one comprising paddles. I've had it done, and it's brilliant.

Get a wheel off ebay. Sell the old one. I think you may need Porsche or someone with diagnostics to code the car for it though.

Had mine changed last weekend, cost about £850 inc fitting at an OPC.

I wonder if the new 718 wheel would fit a 981?

If you have a 981 with MFSW you could get the best of both worlds if it did. Paddles and wheel controls.

I did my old 987 pdk as it came with the switches on the steering wheel , bought new but second hand alcantara paddle wheel off ebay for £450 and just fitted it, was a straight swap from memory all plug and play.
