My 12 month car history, German content

So I thought it was about time I upload my 12 months car history.I'll start with my first car and the one I wish I'd never sold.
1999 328i SE Touring - this car was spotless with full service history and came with full sports spec from factory, over the course of a month I fitted coilovers suspension, cat back exhaust and style 22 staggered and dished wheels.
This I stupidly swapped for a lemon of a CL500 which I had for no longer than 2 months, leaky rear shocks and £1000 per month fuel bills concluded I needed a diesel.
I got a grand total of £500 px towards a mint 2008 BMW 335d M-Sport, this car had the Autovogue Conversion with receipt for £6000 showing all the work done, insane seeing how flimsy the fibreglass kit was. I had stage 2 remap within a week which turned it into a rocket and regularly embarrassed my friends 911 and clk55. I stuck some deep dish BBS Reps on and "stanced" it so to speak but this car soon turned into a money pit spending much time and money having various pipes, actuators, solenoids, cracked wheels and cracked body kit repaired, in the end I think the big turbo was on its way out so I jumped ship and traded it in against my latest German weapon.

Latest car is my 2011 Golf R DSG, now I always said I'd never have a Golf or white car so somehow ended up with this.... Well in all fairness it was from the only garage that didn't notice my 335d was dying and accepted it as part exchange. I've had this a month and already tuned it to stage 2+ 365bhp. This goes like a rocket and sounds insane and pretty much looks like a regular Golf
Big question now is what next.... C63 is top of the short list so far

I know, I know... I miss it dearly everyday. I did actually track it down on Instagram and pestered the new owner to give me first refusal if he was to ever sell up, he get back to me last month asking whether I would be interested..... I promptly declined the offer as the bonnet now has terrible lacquer peel, all 4 wheels are badly curbed and the rear bumper/tailgate has taken a small shunt. He also mentioned that it has recently been fitted with a new sump which is enough to put anyone off. One thing I don't miss about the touring was speed bumps. It was great fun to drive and stuck to the road like Velcro due to the sticky tyres, fully poly bushed and coilover suspension. I will have another one day, it was great for walking the dogs and doing the weekly shop whilst turning many admiring heads.
The style 32s from the e39 suited the tourer perfectly however they were an absolute nightmare to fit, in the end I had to angle grind the rear inner arch lip off as I wanted to retain the OEM look as I think the flared rolled arches look a little naff. The original M3 Evo Sunflower 2 wheels had to be scrapped as they were all buckled, I think the elderly gentleman who owned it before me must have hit every pothole he came across.
Christ those autovogue kits are absolutely horrendous, I don't understand how there are so many around when it completely ruins the looks of the E92.
Love that E36 though, always hankered after a 328i, a touring is especially cool! That and a sensible commuter car would be quite a good 2 car garage I'd imagine.

I quite liked the look of the Autovogue kit however they are so flimsy and poorly made I'm surprised they still trade. I hit a crow at 80 which obliterated the front bumper, I did try to replace it with a standard m sport however the front wings had been bogged so much to match the width of the front bumper I thought it'd just be easier to get it repaired before I traded it in for the R.
The R is insanely fast off the line but I do miss the torque of the 335d. 80-150 was insanely fast in the 335d. Believe it or not the R actually does 170mph now which for a normal looking family hatch is just crazy.
