Which one out of these two boats?

Hi all.

I have options on two boats.
First is a 2005 Bayliner, 21 foot cuddy, 5 liter mercruiser, with alpha 1 leg.

Second is a 1993 Rinker, 23 foot cuddy, 5.7 mercruiser , bravo 1 leg.

Both very similar in price.

Which one, and why.
Both in very nice, equal condition.

Is that Bayliner a fuel injected model? Could be if it's 2005.

I'd go the newer boat but buy on condition and service history. How many hours on each?

As a sidebar, my mate was CEO of the company that had Rinker as one of their brands... In the USA they've passed their tipping point as a brand.

To possibly add in another option, I was in a similar position a few years ago and ended up with one of these:

From looking at lots of other boats it seemed better built/quality than the others, and (obviously in the eye of the beholder) looked better as well.

It's on carburetor

I have heard that the pre-2000 Bayliners were not so good on quality.
However, this 2005 looks top notch.

And by the same token,
The Rinker also looks very tidy.

To be honest I would be happy with both of them,
But I am leaning to the Bayliner, more because of it's a newer boat.

I'd probably go for the bayliner simply due to the age difference, although if the hours are similar I'd be very tempted by the rinker.
Rinker is a prettier boat in my opinion, and has the advantage of being slightly bigger.

I'll be looking for something similar for my next boat, I've just bought a Picton 166 GTS but I will want something with a cuddy when I upgrade,

Generally speaking on powerboats it's all about age. Newer=better since corrosion & moisture are the killers.
That would clearly point towards the bayliner - but - a bravo drive with a 5.7 is a materially better engine & drive package.
A bigger boat is also always better at handling a bit of chop too

So, assuming both have only ever been stored on the trailer (ie no antifoul) it'd need to come down to condition & historical maintenance.
If either have antifoul on (at this size range) reject it.
