My new (old) purchase W201 190E
Discussion
Afternoon all. Long time lurker here but finally got round to signing up and sharing my newest purchase. Always loved the 190E models from when my Dad owned one when I was about so high.
First off, for 200,000+ miles I'm surprised at how clean it is!
Saw it last week in Hillingdon and picked it up this morning, has an extensive service history with a folder full of receipts of work carried out throughout the last ten years by the previous owner(s).
Had pretty much everything under the bonnet replaced including the Timing Chain, no excessive smoke on start up and runs perfectly.
Despite it's moon miles, runs perfectly (now) after a new set of HT Leads.
Has all the original lights with the car tucked away in the boot, still unsure as to whether I want to fit them to be fair.
Only issues are minor dings in both passenger and driver's doors,bit of rust bubbling up on the wing and one of the wheels in an off shade of Mustard / Yellowy colour. Will be in the bodyshop next month to get it back to pristine condition.
Overall not a bad purchase for £1000, what do we think?
Not the best photographer so do forgive me for the shoddy photographs!

Very good, I would certainly re install the original lights.
Lots of knowledge on these cars on the "Barge thread";

Thanks guys, will definitely check out the 'Barge' section of the forums.
As for the wing it's set to go into the bodyshop for all the odd dings and marks to be repaired.
Jacking points appear rust free but won't know until the repairing process begins.
Cleaning up the original rear lights, decided they're going back on.

Had a few when they were new, then a couple over last few years, great cars, put everything back to normal spec, you know it makes sense!
Plus this is a dedicated forum, good bunch of lads.
