[RESOLVED / ANSWERED] No response to sale advert

I posted my car for sale, with what I think is a good description, good pictures and a not unreasonable price. Since then I have had precisely zero response to it. I don't think I've massively overpriced the car, but even if I had I would still expect someone would have made some contact

There doesn't appear to be a way to see how many views an advert has had.
Has anyone even seen my advert?
Does Phonesafe actually work?

(I'll post the link in a response if needed. I wasn't sure if that was allowed)

If you tell me what make and model the car is along with a price I'll see if I can see it (just to make sure you haven't listed it incorrectly)

Aside from that, if you feel the description and images are good, perhaps there are several other similar cars that are more competitively priced?

if it is the one I think ( 1914 ), as above. rust forming, bad paintwork on the front bumper, back bumper needs fixing / re-painting. other faults needs rectifying. way overpriced I'm afraid. needs to be a few thousand less than the advertised price to get any response. if also bought from a dealer last year, it would have been 3-4k overpriced to start with. sorry

Well your advert is definitely live and listed correctly. I'm no expert on the Boxster S, so perhaps the feedback you've had from the other users is accurate?

Seems a bit harsh to say it's couple of grand overpriced, looking at the prices being asked for anniversary edition cars (and I mean actual anniversary cars, not just ones that say they are) it doesn't feel massively overpriced by comparison. Of course, they might not be selling either because people aren't willing to pay the premium.

I think part of the problem is you're being too honest, most sellers wouldn't even bother mentioning the downsides. I like the fact you're honest about it but Joe Public probably just see the bad stuff. Be patient and maybe chip the price slightly to try and generate some interest.

Sadly people buying these want a dealer to back it up, and probably finance as well.

These cars have a reputation for engine problems whether deserved or not, and so taking a chance on a £10k which might need a £6k rebuild frightens people off.

I did think that the Anniversary models were more highly sought after, as they are so much more of a car than the plain jane version, and only 150 came over here.

What's slightly galling is that I paid top money for what was the very best one I could find at the time. Perhaps I should not have mentioned any faults - after all, pretty much every Boxster of this age will have similar.
