Might sound like an odd post but I have worn two different TAGs, one a Links from 2003 and an F1 which is only a couple of years old. I wore both of them as day to day watches, to work, commuting etc. I do an office based job so not exactly manual labour working from a laptop.

Yet both of them have had to go in for a repair. Am I being stupid to think they're a bit fragile as every day watches and I should just whack on of my Seiko autos on for daily use or have I just been unlucky?

Wouldn't expect that. Are they mechanicals?

Are you a bit clumsy? You might have an office job but if you accidentally bang your wrist/arm on stuff, who knows how much damage you can do to a watch.

No these are both quartz, I have a mechanical TAG but only really wear that for special occasions. My other day to day watches are generally mechanical though.

Can't say I am overly clumsy with them, no marks on them from knocking against things etc. Wouldn't keep them on if I know I'm doing something manual anyway.

They should be fine if they are quartz. I go rock climbing and to the gym in my Breitling Colt (quartz model) and it has taken loads of knocks.

Anyway, I'm late for last week's meeting. wink

haha in that case I guess I've just been unlucky.

The second repair was claimed to be a battery issue so I guess I'll take it that was most likely correct and see how it goes.

No rock climbing here, just he odd moment standing on the tube is as extreme as my day gets haha

I bought a Tag F1 Alarm back in 2007 and have worn it nearly every day for work since. It's been knocked about, dropped, squashed and chewed.

Not a single issue.

You have been unlucky.

I bought mine at a similar time, worn it all day everyday since, including working on cars, building walls etc not even a scratch and keeps perfect time.

I have a Tag Grand Carrera and Ive worn it to work everyday for 3 years.

I work in an office based enviroment, so not outside doing anything labour intensive.

Touch wood no issues so far, I am very careful to not bang it however! (Ocd level of carefulness..)

I have a Tag formula 1 that i have been wearing as my daily for over 20 years now and it has been dropped and bashed on many occasions while removing engines.i have welded it to my car battery after my son knocked me while working on a car and it has never stopped working.I only recently sent it off to a watchmaker who is a friends father in law to have a service and a new battery and it was all ok.
Maybe i was lucky but i do like the Tag range of watches and i know the quality is not brilliant on them but i could quite easily have a large collection of them.Ignore the haters and keep on wearing them smile

My Aquaracer is 10 years old now. I wear that everyday and at work, I'm a helicopter engineer, and it's still working as well as it did 10 years ago. I replaced the strap 6 months ago as it's the vulcanized rubber one and was looking a little tired.

I've carried on wearing one daily. I have an older Links model that I bought used and an F1 as well which I wear day to day.

I'll stick with wearing this day to day...
