I have noticed occasionally a forum page will become very unresponsive and CPU utilisation shoots up to 25%, Chrome itself is fine and I can still navigate to other tabs.

Clearly a seemingly random event is hard to diagnose so I think I have narrowed it down to when the Mr Robot Amazon advert is displayed next to forum post 5, everything is fine until the advert finishes playing and loads this end frame with a script called logic.js:174.

From then on it becomes impossible to scroll up and down.

Hi pozi,

Thanks for the feedback. Which device, browser and skin are you using?

Thanks,
Dom

Windows 10 desktop, Chrome Version 52.0.2743.116 and classic skin.

I had the same problem on a laptop running Windows 7 (same Chrome and PH skin) which made me realise it was not just a problem with my PC.

Also getting this issue with the Mr Robot ad.

Thanks Dan_1981,

It has been raised with our ad team who will investigate.

I have the same problem.

If you are losing traffic, this is the reason.

Just had it again.

Most definitely when this advert is displayed.

Window freezes but chrome does not crash.
If you flick to another tab then come back to PH it springs back to life but then freezes again.

It is definitely a script which gets itself stuck when the page is the active window, you can see task manager spike once the ad has loaded, it then drops if you navigate to another tab and goes nuts again when you go back to the page.

If you are lucky a page refresh will load a different ad but after hitting it 5 times on the bounce it is getting a bit frustrating, might be time to look at an adblock.

Thanks for the continued feedback guys. We've fed all this back to the ad-ops team who are working on it... sadly other than our regular pestering there isn't much else we can do at the moment. We're hopefully this will (finally) be resolved soon though.

Thanks for bearing with us - we'll get there!

It is still doing it.

Come on, rev up the ZX81, or whatever it is you are using, and get it sorted!
